NURSE MENTORS

Assisted living facility administrators and their managers are required to successfully complete the 26 hour Assisted Living Core Training within 3 months of becoming a facility administrator or manager. At the completion of course all participants are provided with the application necessary for registering for the required competency exam. Cost include the course manual.

A staff member who has completed courses in First Aid and CPR and holds a current valid card documenting completion of such courses must be in the facility at all times

All un-licensed staff who will be assisting patients with self administered Medication are required to complete 4 hours of training prior to assuming this responsibility.

This 6 hour review course prepares you to pass the competency exam given by the Department of Elder Affairs. Course manual cost an additional $50.00

Training must be completed biennially for all ALF employees and documentation of the course completion must be on file.

Staff who provide direct care to residents, other than nurses, CNA's Or HHAs must receive 3 hours of in service training within 30 days Of employment that covers providing assistance with activities of daily living ( ADLs)

Staff who provide direct care to residents, other than nurses, CNAs or HHAs must receive a minimum of 1 - hour in-service training in infection control, including universal precautions before providing personal care to residents.

Staff that provides direct care to residents who have not taken the Core Training must receive a minimum of 1 hour in-service training within 30 days of employment that covers resident's rights in an ALF.

This is required by the administrator or a person designated by the administrator as responsible for the facility food service. Staff who prepares or serve food must receive in-service within 30 days of employment in safe food handling practices.

This course is designed to help keep administrators and managers informed on the latest changes made to the Florida rules as it relates to assisted living facilities.

Alzheimer's Level  I & II -   4 Hours for each level
Gerda Williams, MSN, ARNP is an Approved Trainer for Assisted Living Facility Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Training Provider (Approval Number ALF 735). We offer  Alzheimer's Level I and Level II Training for Direct Care Staff at your facility, as well as Alzheimer's Training for non-Direct Care Staff.  We also provide the Annual 4-hour Alzheimer's Continuing Education for Direct Care Staff as requires by the Florida Statues.
